ABOUT BYSTORM
Beauty shouldn’t be a battle.
Ever fought to open a lipstick? Fumbled a mascara wand? Given up because the tool just would not cooperate?
Yeah. Same.
Here is the thing: it was never you. It is the tools. Most makeup is made for one kind of hand, and it leaves a lot of people out.
ByStorm makes beauty easier to hold, twist and use. For every hand. No beige medical look. No special label. Just better design.
Our mission is simple: make beauty accessible for everybody.
How it started.
ByStorm started with an injury, and a lifetime of quietly adapting.
When our founder Storm hurt her dominant hand, something simple like holding a mascara wand suddenly was not. She looked for tools to help. There were none. So she made her own.
She taught herself 3D design and started prototyping in her garage. But she did not do it alone. She asked the people who get it, her community of disabled friends, carers and support workers: what is not working for you?
One answer stuck: “Makeup is not made for people like me, because no one thinks I could be beautiful.”
That changed everything.
Together they tested, adapted and tried again. What came out the other side: accessible beauty grips that snap onto the makeup you already own.
More than a beauty brand.
ByStorm is a social enterprise, which means every purchase helps create a more accessible beauty industry. We co-design with disabled people, fund accessibility research, and work with brands to make beauty easier to use for everyone.
Today, fewer than 4% of beauty products are designed with accessibility in mind.
We're here to change that.
Because beauty should work for every hand.
We proudly partner with the beauty industry
Part of our social enterprise mission is working with the brands you already love to make their products accessible too — starting with our ByStorm x Booie collaboration.
Made with you, not just for you.
We co-design every product with the people who have been left out of beauty for too long.
Our Lived Experience Advisory Group is 30+ people with lived experience of disability, chronic illness and neurodivergence. They test, challenge and shape every ByStorm product. Not a focus group. An actual part of how this gets made. We pay them for their time and expertise, because lived experience is expertise.
